The Weigh Measure Mark Stencil System (WMMS) consists of four stations required to measure the length and weight, and then stamp, stencil and color band the pipe. Using photo eyes and an encoder, the pipe length is measured and placed on load cells to capture the weight. The pipe is then stamped, stenciled and color banded according to the captured data. The Brandt WMMS system ensures all measurements and marking information is data logged electronically and can be integrated into a customer database.

Features
Marking
- All marking is done in accordance with API specifications. For each pipe, the length and weight are measured to allow pipe specific information to be marked. A stenciller marks the pipe with a painted text message of up to 89" long and 150 characters. A stamper marks the pipe with a pin indented text message of up to 6" long and 40 characters. Paint guns mark the pipe with three color bands circumferentially.
Accuracy and Speed
- Length measurement accuracy is proven to +/-3 mm and weight measurement accuracy is proven to +/- 0.04%. Maximum pipe cycle time is 18 seconds (based on 25 character stamp, 48' long stencil), equivalent to 200 pipe per hour. Stamping speed is proven to 2.4 characters per second at 1/4" character height, and stencil speed is proven to 5 ft/second.
Throughput Requirements
- This machine is designed for maximum throughput, with walking beams to minimize indexing times and components selected to ensure quick, accurate measuring and marking.
Functionality
- Walking beam style indexing allows quick and accurate movement of pipe with minimal impact to lessen fatigue on equipment.
