Brandt Supports the Canadian Cancer Society

The Canadian Cancer Society is the latest beneficiary of Brandt's "Thanks a Billion" program. Brandt is pleased to present to the Canadian Cancer Society a cheque for $50,000 to support cancer research.
The Society is passionate about furthering their mission to eradicate cancer and enhance the life of people living with cancer. “Continued support from generous donors like Brandt will help us continue to make progress in the fight against cancer”, says Keith Karasin, Executive Director of the Canadian Cancer Society in Saskatchewan.
The society funds more cancer research, on more types of cancer, than any other national charity. Research funded is chosen by an internally peer-review system to ensure funding is going to only the best, most promising research. Last year, the Society invested $46 million to fund 274 researchers and 574 students and fellows to carry out 336 research projects. Research funded by the society led to 565 scientific papers being published in peer-reviewed journals.
