Brandt helps Canada Post launch latest installment in their Canada 150 Collection
May 16, 2017
For as long as there has been a Trans-Canada Highway, it has been integral to the success of Brandt. We have travelled the length of this nation-spanning link to build our business and have even located our head office directly alongside. As a result, when Canada Post went looking for a firm that personified the spirit of the Highway to host the national launch of the latest installment in their Canada 150 Collection, they looked to Brandt.
On Tuesday May 16, Canada Post representatives along with country music star Dean Brody rolled in to Regina for the unveiling of a new Trans-Canada Highway commemorative stamp. Brandt Chairman Gavin Semple was pleased to welcome them along with politicians & local dignitaries, local & national media and Brandt employees to a ceremony in front of Brandt’s Customer Support Centre. There, he shared the story of how the growth of our own business has been enabled by the national highway.
Afterward, Brody took the podium to talk about the life of a touring musician and the many miles spent criss-crossing the country on the #1.
When the moment came to unveil the new stamp, a Canada Post transport truck and trailer – custom-wrapped for the occasion with visuals of the new stamp – drove up to the presentation area to the enthusiastic applause of the crowd.
When the Trans-Canada project began in 1950, its national scope – now over 8000km – made it the longest national highway in the world and from Day One it has played a key role in the ongoing operation and success of Brandt. To give a sense of scale; in and out of our Regina facilities alone, Brandt has roughly 15,000 loads per year – large or small - that will spend some or all of their journey on the Trans-Canada. And that’s just Regina.
The Trans-Canada has provided the conduit for many of Brandt’s earliest business successes. And now, forty-five years later, we only have to look out our own front door – quite literally - to see how it continues to grow in scale and importance and provide a critical channel for the wealth of a nation to flow… and Brandt is very proud to be a part of it all!
