Features
Serviceability
- The fuel tank is located at the rear of the machine, underneath the engine frame. The 110-gallon capacity tank provides plenty of fuel for a full day's work, is easily filled from ground level, and is fully protected by a steel bottom guard. Fast fuel is capable of handling up to 150 gpm.
- Hydraulic, axle, and transmission oil filters are all conveniently located in a service bank on the right side of the machine. All filters are easily accessible.
- The fluid-samplying valves are color-coded and have been simplified for service.
- The fluid bank is easy to access for fast evacuation and fluid refills, resulting in increased uptime. All critical fluid reservoir caps have been color coded for easy identification.
Structures
- The new mainframe shape allows for improved blade clearance, throat clearance, blade reach, and easier rotation into the bank-cut position.
- Heavy-duty tapered roller bearing in the artiuclatoin joint provides unsurpassed durability.
- With NeverGrease pin joints, greasing time is reduced by 56 percent and the joints are kept tight for longer, more productive operation. These pins are especially important in keeping joints tight when running Integrated Grade Control (IGC).
- Narrow center console and streamlined blade saddle bring the moldboard and front tires within focus. On Grade Pro (GP) models, conventional control linkages have been eliminated and steering wheel diameter reduced, further enhancing the view.
Powertrain
- Purpose-built PowerShift Plus transmission employes durable heavy-duty clutches and bearings, for reliable performance, shift after shift.
- With five true working speeds below 16 km/h (10mph) and a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph), it's easy to match ground speed to the work. AutoShift option automatically shifts gears four through eight, for even easier operation.
- Automatic differential lock stays engaged when travelling straight, disengages in turns exceeding 10 degrees, and re-engages when returning to straight.
- Event-Based Shifting (EBS) transmission software senses the load on the engine, as well as other inputs, to create an optimally smooth shift each time the operator selects a new gear.
Cooling System
- Stacked coolers handle large amounts of heat while keeping machine length to a minimum. Tranmission, hydraulic, axle, and A/C coolers are hinged and can swing out for easy cleaning.
- Swing-out, hydraulically driven reversing fan varies fan speed depending on heat load. Large cooling air-inlet surfaces pre-screen incoming air with 2mm diameter holes, keeping air velocities low and minimizing vacuum effect.
- For heavy airborne-debris applications, the reversing fan back blows the cooling system every 10, 20, 30, or 40 minutes. Now adjustable by the operator via the monitor, this feature is part of the base equipment package on every G-Series model.
Work Tools
- Blade clearance has been increased 1.5 inches.
- Ground-engaging tool options include front- or mid-mount scarifier and rear scarifier/ripper. Front lift group accommodates blades and V-plows.
- It takes only two hours to change all wear inserts using a 9/16 inch wrench.
- Moldboard wear inserts keep the blade tight to the tilt frame. This improves the accuracy of the blade, which is important in fine-grading applications or for operators using grade-control systems. These heavy-duty inserts are adjustable using a jackscrew and can be returned to factory specifications in less than five minutes.
Grade Pro (GP)
- Automated cross slope simplifies holding a consistent slope by reducing operation to a single lever. An operator simply selects the desired slope and the side of the blade that will be manually controlled. Once set, the system automatically adjusts the opposite blade-lift cylinder to maintain the slope. It's a Grade Pro (GP) exclusive that helps veteran operators be their best, and inexperienced operators get up to speed more quickly.
- GP models are ready to accept Trimble and TOPCON grade-control systems. The grade-control buttons are integrated directly into the GP control levers.
- The fingertip controls are integrated into each of the seat armrests and laid out using the industry-standard control platform. Steering can be controlled using one of the levers on the left armrest or the conventional steering wheel.
- Return to straight automatically straightens an articulated frame at the touch of a button, for quicker work cycles.
Operator's Station
- The redesigned operator's station provides many new features that improve visibility, comfort, and productivity. By increasing the size of the front windows and reducing the width of the stationary console, visibility has been greatly improved.
- No shortage of space in here - there's a place for your cooler and a cup holder.
- The optional premium seat has a heated seat backrest to keep the operator warm on cold days. The higher, wider backrest with increased side bolstering and an infinitely adjustable lumbar support provide additional comfort.
- With a quieter cab, you can listen to tunes while working all day long.
LCD Monitor
- Best-in-class monitor displays onboard diagnostics, analog/digital gauges, and vital system status.
- Sensor information, calibrations, and switch checks require no special tools or test equipment. Electrical code information will help guide technicians when troubleshooting.
- When traffic or close working corridors are a factor, the optional integrated rearview camera lets you see what's going on behind the machine through the multifunctional LCD color monitor. The camera can be set to display in reverse or manual.
- Easy-to-use cross slope incorporated into the LCD color monitor allow sthe operator to set a desired slop and automatically maintain it with the use of only one blade-lift lever. Operators will be less fatigued at the end of the day. When not in "auto" mode, it can be used as a built-in slope meter.
Steering and Controls
- Choose Grade Pro (GP) fingertip armrest industry-standard pattern controls or low-effort console industry-standard pattern controls. Either way, you'll enjoy smooth, predictable response. If the steering wheel is used, it will always have priority over lever-steer control on GP models.
- Low-effort industry-standard levers or Grade Pro fingertip armrest controls: Either way, you'll enjoy smooth, predictable response.
- Moving the blade side-shift control left or right will steer the grader.
- Auxiliary functions are controlled by mini-levers located on the right-hand armrest and by the larger main-function dual-axis levers.
Sealed-Switch Module
- Push-button start eliminates the need for an ignition key.
- Exclusive auto shutdown saves fuel and reduces noise and engine, transmission, and hydraulic system wear. This feature also shuts the machine down after a set amount of time, chosen by the operator.
- Security mode prevents unauthorized engine start until a code is entered on the sealed-switch module number pad. Owner, operator, and transport codes are set via the monitor.
- Additional switches and corresponding unsealed connections are eliminated using the 25-button module.
