Powerful Track Record
The OTM Tracker model powers the OTM Tracker system, a highly productive and safe material handling systems for tracks. The OTM Tracker is hauled by the R5 Power Unit on the highway and loads onto railcars at a crossing with the R5’s lift deck. It can take on various high-production MOW material handling jobs, such as ties and crossing planks, with a continuous swing bypass grapple. The OTM Tracker with a 48” magnet and 15 kW generator can manage tie plates, rails, and other OTM materials.
Brandt R5 OTM Power Units deliver highway-capable railcar hauling paired with industry-leading versatility. Perform a wide range of tasks with ease, including railcar transport, maintenance of way, revenue service, and emergency response.
Protect Your Assets
Safety is priority for the R5. Innovative features ensure a secure environment for the operator.
Adapt With Ease
Purpose-built versatility on and off the road maximizes performance and efficiency.

Designed for reliability and serviceability, this beast will outperform in any condition.
Safety First
- Switch between road and rail in under 3 minutes for maximum roadway efficiency and safety.
- Lift deck safely hoists the 40,000 lb OTM Tracker for seamless transition onto a railcar gondola.
- Stabilizer clamps and anchoring side pockets on the trailer and lift deck ensure safe transitions.
Increased Productivity
- The only road-to-rail mobile unit compatible with transferring MOW equipment onto rail gondolas.
- The R5 delivers up to 51,000 lb of tractive effort, capable of pulling up to 3 million lbs on rails.
- Ruggedly built transmission and axles deliver power and torque when performing railcar transport.
Optimized Operations
- Easy access to critical areas delivers swift maintenance and enhanced serviceability.
- Operator feedback tracks fluid levels, temperatures, and current tractive effort needs.
- Simply designed settings and pneumatic routings reduce corrosion points and repair times.
Features
Heavy-duty Hauling
Off-road transmission and tridem drive axles deliver power and torque while performing highway speeds of up to 65 mph and on-rail speeds of 30 mph and 25 mph in reverse.
Effortless Adaptability
Tractive effort is controlled at the push of a button to suit changing track conditions by adjusting the shelf coupler and weight distribution between rail and drive wheels.
Easily Available Operator Data
Configurable system information is safely presented to the operator via a large 10″ touchscreen display alongside other critical truck information. All system information is readily available for maximum efficiency.
Enhanced Longevity
Traction management has 100% duty cycles, air knives, and sanders with continuous aeration to prevent material buildup.
Protect From the Cold
Optional hydraulic tank heater for cold weather operation helps improve functionality and protect sensitive hydraulic equipment from damage.
